Yes, that's right folks!

Me and my dear friend Clare walked 13-14miles in September last year and raised £200 in memory of my Gran and for charity The British Heart Foundation.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who did donate/sponsor.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  And also thank you for all the support and messages. X

Charity Walk in memory of Gran for The British Heart Foundation.

Hello folks....

Please would you mind donating some dosh for the charity walk, taking place in June 2014.

No matter how little and humungerouly big, every little penny helps and goes directly to the cause.

Why BHF?  My Gran (bless her) passed away with Heart Failure, Heart Disease and a Chronic Kidney Disease.  Heart being the main cause of her passing.

She was truly incredibly brave and strong faith too.  I hope I helped to keep her strong right upto her last day.  I'm thankful that she wasn't in any pain or suffering and went peacefully, quickly and quietly.

I miss her so very much.  She was my world.  God bless you Gran and continue to watch over me.

Here is the link for you to use to donate if you so wish.  All donations greatly received.  Thanks!

My day of Falconry with Russ Tipper.

Well!  Excitement built up inside me like a little kid!!  This I have been looking forward to for sometime.

The day arrived and the weather couldn't of been any better.  Russ mentioning that it was ideal for the birds to fly.  We ventured into the woods to fly two Hawks, a brother and a sister they were.  She was called Doris and the other was a scruffy devil bless it!

They swooped with elegance and peacefully land on your hand/gloove.  The windspan and flight is so breathtaking...... I could do this each week, I was in such wonderment about it all.

Then we flew the new Harris Hawk..... beautiful bird.  This was then followed by flying a Falcon and Owls.

Believe me, if you are into Birds of Prey and Nature, this is well recommended.  It is full of history and education and Russ is an absolute delight telling you all about the birds and their habitat.

My thanks to Russ Tipper for the day and Petwood for the magical and mystery surroundings.  Perfect.

Family FunRun/Day looming...

Posted by Elizabeth Mapleston on May 26, 2011 at 4:29 PM Comments comments (0)

Yes that's right folks - a Family FunRun/Day looming and is in progression of organising as I type.

Starting to find a venue is hard enough.  Trying for a Sports Centre where there will be shower / changing facilities, a track to use for the FunRun and refreshments.  Face Painting and the dreaded tank will be making an appearance.  And NO I won't be GOTCHA'd again!! There is no way!!

Early days yet as only decided was going to organise.  Thanks to Lorna, Lord Brett and Lance who is helping with the organising but the more the merrier.

Updates soon once date and venue is finalised first.  And then see what else happens!

Wish me luck!

Summer / Garden

Posted by Elizabeth Mapleston on May 6, 2011 at 2:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Well my dears, I think Summer has finally arrived on our doorsteps.  I have found some time *coughs* in my so-called busy schedule to do some gardening.  Just a mini border at the moment, planning on taking over the WORLD!! Sorry - slight rush just then! AHEM!! I mean another border.  I may even take up painting again!  Oh er, get me!

And before you ask 'paint?', yes I did do some water-colours.  Only on a small scale and produce larger pieces of work later on.  Only a few exist in my procession now.  Will have to do more as I enjoyed painting.

I was surprised just how quick my photos have uploaded on this website.  Amazingly really when I could only update one at a time which did geet a bit frustrating!  There are now seven new photos of the said border.  Enjoy!

Right my lovely following peeps, must go for a delightful brew of tea, followed by some salmon, potato salad and coleslaw.  How delightful is that?!  Laters! X

Marmite Ice-Cream?

Posted by Elizabeth Mapleston on March 15, 2011 at 2:17 PM Comments comments (0)

Yes you read it correctly: Marmite Ice-Cream!

I will take venture into the village for this amusingly strange ice-cream.  Like they say, you either love it or loathe it. Got to admit I prefer my Marmite on toast.  But ice-cream is something a must try.

A friend of mine on ye olde Twitter mentioned Marmite Milkshake - that is a definite miss for me!!

When I do manage to have a taste, will post a piccie what it looks like.  All I can say is it looks like Vanilla ice-cream with streaks.

You're already thinking 'bleurgh!!' I know! :/

Since I blogged this, I have tried the said mentioned ice-cream - it was vile! Bleurgh!! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1620047537823&set=a.1029295489391.106661.1135463233&theater
